How to Apply for State Bank of India Central Recruitment



16. How to Apply: Application on prescribed format, given in this advertisement, complete in all respects should be sent only by ordinary post to Post Box No.7461, Jogeshwari (East), Mumbai 400 060 alongwith prescribed application fee including postage of Rs. 250/- (for SC / ST / PWD / XS Rs.50/-towards postal charges only) through Demand Draft only having validity of minimum 6 months date, favouring 'Stare Bank of India', payable at ‘MUMBAI’ only. Cash, Cheques, Money orders, Postal orders etc. will NOT be accepted. Fee / Postage once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Candidate's name, address, name of the post and date of birth should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft. Candidates should keep a photocopy of the Application form and the Demand Draft.

An 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written test. The application form sent by the candidates should be neatly typed or handwritten in own handwriting in English or Hindi on a foolscape size paper with his / her signature. A recent passport size photograph bearing full signature of the candidate across the same with date, should be pasted at right hand top corner of the application.

Candidates serving in Government / Quasi Government offices, Public Sector undertaking including Nationalised Banks and financial Institutions will be required to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid. The Bank will not be responsible if the application is misplaced in transit or not received at the designated address in time.

The reserve category candidate will have to produce his / her original caste certificate / relevant certificates before the interview takes place, failing which his / her candidature shall be cancelled and he / she will not be admitted for interview. OBC candidates, availing reservation will have to produce OBC certificate with Non-creamy layer clause issued on or after 01.04.2007 at the time of interview.

Note: Before submitting the Bank draft, candidates should ensure that it is in order i.e., it is of requisite amount, bears signature of authorized signatory and place and date of issue, amount in words and figures and name of the paying branch are properly indicated / written. Application accompanied with defective / unrealisable drafts and drafts of lower value than stipulated are liable to be rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Last date for receipt of application: Applications complete in all respects should reach the above address on or before 22.10. 2007. For candidates residing abroad or in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spiti districts and Pangi sub-divisions of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, applications will be accepted upto 29.10.2007.

Applications received after the last date of receipt of application will not be entertained.

Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct: Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form.

At the time of written examination / interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:

  • Using unfair means during the examination or
  • Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
  • Misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question booklet / answer sheet from the examination hall or
  • Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature for selection or
  • Obtaining support for his / her candidature by any means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself / herself liable to criminal prosecution, also be liable:

a) to be disqualified from the examination for which he / she is a candidate.

b) to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai.

Note: The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. On the basis of such an analysis, if it is suspected that the responses have been shared and scores obtained are not genuine / valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his / her candidature.
