Subject: Filling up One post of Clinical Psychologist in the Directorate of Medical & Health Services, Administration of Daman and Diu by transfer on deputation.

It is proposed to fill up one post of Clinical Psychologist in the Directorate of Medical and Health Services, Administration of Daman and Diu (UT) by transfer on deputation from amongst doctors of the Central/State Governments/UTs.

The departmental Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same organization/department shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years.

The scale of pay/eligibility conditions, educational qualifications, experience and period of deputation, etc. prescribed for the post are indicated below.

The pay of the candidate selected for the appointment on deputation basis will be regulated in accordance with the prevailing orders in the respect. This vacancy may kindly be circulated amongst the doctors working in your Ministries/Departments of the Government of India/States/Union Territories.

Eligibility conditions for the post of Clinical Psychologist

Name of the post: Clinical Psychologist

No. of post: One post

Pay Scale: Rs. 8000-275-13500 (Revised Pay Scale PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400) and other allowances as per Central Government norms.

Eligibility:

1. Holding analogous posts on a regular basis or;
1. Holding analogous posts; or
2. With 5 years service in posts in the scale of Rs.6500-10500 or equivalent; or
3. With 8 years service in posts in the scale of Rs.5500-9000 or equivalent and
2. possessing the following educational qualifications as under:
1. Masters Degree in Psychology of a recognized University or equivalent.
2. Diploma in Medical and Social Psychology of a recognized University/Institution or equivalent.
3. 5 years experience of teaching including psychology testing and counselling.

Note:

1. Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
2. The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if, at any stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
