Applications are invited upto 5th December, 2008 for the following posts at the Council's National Institute of Immunohaematology, Mumbai.

1. Scientist 'D' (Assistant Director) - One Post (Scale of pay of Rs.12000-375-16500)

Qualifications & Experience: Essential:

1. MBBS Degree in the required discipline and recognized by MCI or 1st class Master's Degree in Life / Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects from a recognized University or equivalent. Or 2nd class Master's Degree in life /Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with Ph.D. degree from a recognized University or equivalent,
2. Eight years research experience in the relevant areas.

Desirable:

1. Doctorate Degree in Biological Sciences, or M.D. in the related Subject for candidates with first class relevant degree,
2. Additional Post doctoral research / teaching experience in relevant subjects,
3. Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Note: Ph.D. or MD degree in subjects relevant to ICMR shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

Job Requirements: To carry out research in the area of Haematology with special reference to Immunohaematology.

Age: Not exceeding 45 years (Relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants in accordance with the instruction and orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time in this regard.

2. Scientist 'B' (Research Officer) - One Post (Scale of pay of Rs.8000-275-13500)

Qualifications & Experience: Essential:

MBBS Degree in the required discipline and recognized by MCI or 1st class Master's Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological subject from a recognized University or equivalent. or

2nd class Master's Degree in life /Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with Ph.D. degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable:

1. Doctorate Degree in Biological Sciences, or M.D. in the related Subject for candidates with first class relevant degree,
2. Three years research / Teaching experience in Haematology / Immunohaematology / Molecular Biology OR Ph.D. in related subject.

Job Requirements: To carry out research in the area of Haematology with special reference to Immunohaematology.

Age: Not exceeding 35 years (Relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants in accordance with the instruction and orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time in this regard.

Allowances as per Central Goverment Rules are admissible on the above pay scale.

Benefits of new restructured defined contributory Pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), dated 22-12-2003 effective from 01-01-2004.

Applications from employees working in Central/State Goverment Departments, Public Sector Undertaking and Government funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel.

Private practice is not allowed, however, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules of the Council.

And application forms duly completed in all respects may be sent on the same address on or before the last date alongwith a crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100'- (Rupees Hundred only) payable to the Director.

National Institute of Immunohaematology, Mumbai (SC/ST and Council's employees are exempted from this payment). Incomplete/late applications or without postal orders will not be entertained.

Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be disqualification.

Note: Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/personal discussion, the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose.

The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard. Candidates called for personal discussion for the posts of Scientist, 'D' (Assistant Director) will be paid llnd class rail fare by shortest route on production of documents.
