1. Professor Of Neurology - One Post (OBC)

Educational Qualification: DM. Neurology / Speciality Board of Neurology (USA) OR equivalent from a recognized University / Institution.

2. Professor Of Neurosurgery - One Post (OBC)

Educational Qualification: M.Ch. Neurosurgery / Speciality Board of Neurosurgery (USA) OR equivalent from a recognized University / Institution.

3. Professor of Neurochemistry - One Post (UR)

Educational Qualification: a) I or II class M.Sc degree in Biochemistry / Chemistry with Biochemistry / Medical Biochemistry and b) Ph. D / D.Sc. (Biochemistry / Neurochemistry) for NONMEDICAL OR M.D Biochemistry for MEDICAL.

4. Assistant Professor of Neurology - Six Posts (1-ST/3-OBC/2-UR)

Educational Qualification: D.M. Neurology / Speciality Board of Neurology (USA) OR equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institution.

5. Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery -Three Posts (1-OBC/1-ST/1-UR)

Educational Qualification: MCh. Neurosurgery / Speciality Board of Neurosurgery (USA) OR equivalent qualification from a recognized University /Institution.

6. Assistant Professor of Health Education -One Post (PWD)

Educational Qualification: M.D. Degree in Psychiatry or Community Medicine OR Ph.D. in Public Health Education or Psychiatric Social Work or Psychology or Communication.

7. Assistant Professor of Mental Health & Social Psychology - Three Posts (1-ST/2-OBC)

Educational Qualification: a) I or II class M.A / M.Sc. degree in Psychology with Clinical Psychology as one of the subject or equivalent qualification and b) Ph.D. / D.Sc. in Clinical Psychology of a recognized University OR equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institution.

8. Assistant Professor of Nursing -One Post (OBC)

Educational Qualification: a) I or II class M.Sc. Nursing with speciality on Psychiatric Nursing and b) Ph.D / D.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized University / Institution.

9. Assistant Professor of Speech Pathology & Audiology - One Post (OBC)

Educational Qualification: a) I or II class degree in Speech pathology and Audiology and b) Ph.D / D.Sc. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from a recognized University /Institution.

10. Assistant Professor of Neuro Imaging & Interventional Radiology - TWO Posts (2-OBC)

Educational Qualification: M.D. in Radiology / M.S. Radiology / Speciality Board of Radiology (USA) FFR or equivalent with training in Neuroradiology for two years.

11. Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Social Work - One Post (ST)

Educational Qualification: a) I or II class M.A / M.S.W degree in Medical Psychiatric Social Work and b) Ph.D / D.Sc in Medical and / OR Psychiatric Social Work from a recognized University / Institution.

12. Professor (UG) Nursing College - One Post (UR)

Educational Qualification: Masters Degree in Nursing.

13. Associate Professor (UG) Nursing College - One Post (UR)

Educational Qualification: Masters Degree in Nursing.

• Post at SI. No. 12: Rs.12,000-375-16,500/-
• Post at SI. No. 13: Rs.10,000-325-15,200/-.
• Posts at SI. Nos. 1 & 2: 12 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree.
• Post at SI. No. 3: 14 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the above qualifying degree.
• Posts at SI. Nos. 6 to 11: 3 years teaching or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree as above.
• Post at SI. No. 12: 14 years experience after M.Sc (Nursing) in College of Nursing, 3 years experience in Administration (Experience is relaxable if suitable candidate is not available).
• If a candidate is not available minimum 5 years of experience in College of Nursing with an aggregate of 14 years of teaching experience.
• Desirable: Independent published work of high standard. / doctorate degree. / M.Phil.
• Post at SI. No. 13: 10 years experience after M.Sc (Nursing) in College. Desirable: Independent published work of high standard / doctorate degree / M.Phil.

Terms and Conditions

• The prescribed application form can be downloaded from this Institute website http://www.nimhans.kar.nic.in and submit along with prescribed application fee of Rs.750/-(Rs. 500/- in case of SC/ST candidates) through Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIMHANS, obtained from any Nationalized Bank payable at Bangalore.
• Separate applications should be sent for each post.
• All British Medical qualifications obtained after 11-11-1976 are not recognized.
• In-service candidates should forward the application through their employers or produce 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of interview, failing which the candidate's application will not be considered under the category of in-service.
• Indian Nationals residing abroad can apply by giving full details of educational qualifications, teaching/research experience with copies of supportive documents together with an application fee of US $ 25 for each application.
• Candidates should enclose attested copies of certificates of age proof, academic qualifications, experience, Medical Council Registration etc.
• No applications shall be entertained if it is incomplete/received after the last date prescribed/not forwarded through proper channel. The Institute will not take responsibility for postal delay if any.
• *Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC / PWD / Ex-servicemen candidates and Government servants in service as per G.O.I rules. The Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen has to submit relevant latest certificate's in the prescribed form issued by the Competent Authority.
• In case if it is felt necessary, the Institute may not fill up any or all of the above posts and if so, no separate intimation will be given to the candidates.
• Last date for receipt of filled in application form is on or before 15.07.2008.
• Cut off date for calculation of age, experience is 15.07.2008.
