Recruitment for the Post of Dean, Medical Superintendent, Professors, Associated Professors, Assistant Professors

The Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Government Medical College is an autonomous institution of the Government of Pondicherry. Applications are invited for the posts detailed below from Indian Nationals the MCI regulations of minimum qualification for teachers in Medical Institution, (Amendment) Regulations

Dean	1	65 years	(i) A medical qualification in Schedule I&II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (candidates possessing the qualifications included part-II of the third Scheduled should also fulfill the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the Act). (ii) A postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD / MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Minimum 10 years teaching experience as professor / Associated Professor / Reader in the Medical college / Institution out of which at least five years should be a Professor in department. Preference for these appointments may be given to the Heads of the Departments.
Medical Superintendent	1	65 years	(i) A medical qualification included in Schedule I&II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Candidates possessing the qualifications included in part-II of the third Scheduled should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act.) (ii) A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. (OR) A Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from a recognized Institution/ University or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Experience: 10 years administrative experience in major teaching institution.
Professor (Medical / Non Medical)* Anatomy (1) Physiology (1) Bio-Chemistry (1) General Medicine (1) General Surgery (1) Radio Diagnosis (1) Forensic Medicine (1) Pharmacology (1) Pathology (1) Microbiology (1) Community Medicine (1) Obst. & Gynaec. (1) Anesthesiology (1) OBC-3, SC-2, UR-8	13	60 years	A medical qualification included in Schedule I&II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Act of 1956 (candidates possessing the qualifications included in Part-II of the third Scheduled should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13 (3) of the Act). (ii) M.S. / M.D. / M.Sc* OR M.Sc. with PH.D. or D.Sc in the faculty Medicine* Experience (i) As Reader / Associate Professor in concerned speciality for four years in a recognized medical college Desirable: (ii) Minimum of four Research publications indexed in Index Medicus / National Journal and one research publication in International journal.

(ii) M.S. M.D. / M.B.B.S, M.Sc (OR) M.Sc with PH.D. or D.Sc in the faculty of Medicine* Experience: (i) As Assistant Professor / Lecturer in concerned speciality for five years in recognized medical college Desirable: (ii) Minimum of four research publication indexed in Index Medicus / National Journals.

(ii) M.S. M.D. / M.B.B.S, M.Sc (OR) M.Sc with PH.D. or D.Sc in the faculty of Medicine* Experience: Three years teaching experience in the subject in a recognized medical college as Resident / Registrar / Demonstrator / Tutor

Pay and Allowances will be as per the AIIMS norms. *Non-medical only for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacology

The prescribed application format can be had in person / post or by email (puducherrymedicalcollege@gmail.com). The duly filled in application, separately for each post, should be submitted on or before 18.12.2006 along with a D.D. for Rs.250 (Rs.100 for SC / ST) drawn in favour of “Puducherry Medical College Society” payable at Puducherry and other documents as specified in the application format. Age will be reckoned as Age Relaxation: Upper age limits upto 5 years in relaxable for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

General Conditions:

1) Selected Candidates will have to join immediately.
2) The number of posts indicated above is provisional and subject to change without prior notice.
3) Retirement age is 65 years.

Note: 1) The candidates who have applied in response to the advertisement, which appeared various newspapers during the month of November 2005 and June 2006, need not apply again.
