Invites application from Indian Nationals for the post of Scientist-D / Neuro Physiologist for Sleep Centre.

Qualification & Experience:

A first class in M.Sc / B.Tech or MBBS / B.VSc with 8 years experience or A first class in M.E. / M.Tech with 6 years of experience or MD / MS / Ph.D / M.V.Sc with 4 years experience.

Essential Experience and Expertise:

1. Surgical skill for chronic implantation of electrodes in small animals for recording EEG, EMG, EOG and PGO waves.
2. Skill in histological identification of brain lesions.
3. Ability to record and analyze electrophysiological signals telemetrically.

Expertise in:

1. Stereotaxic technique for small animals.
2. Post operative care of small animals.
3. Interpreting electrophysiological signals and behavioral parameters for analysis of sleep.
4. Handling of small animals.

Desirable Experience and Expertise:

1. Expertise in single cell action potential recording, microiontophoresis, intracerebral micro injection, brain temperature recording, patch-clamp technique, immunohistochemistry.
2. Biochemical estimation of neurotransmitters.
3. Expertise in advanced microscopic techniques.
4. Expertise in teaching basic neurophysiology.

Nature/Period of employment: Temporary for one year, but likely to continue.

Monthly consolidated remuneration: Rs.25350/- + DA

Age limit as on 30.09.2009: 45 years.
