Applications are invited for Stipendiary Trainees Category i & II for training in RMP / BARC, Mysore
Category-I (17 Posts)
Diploma / Licentiate in Mechanical / Chemical / instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical Engineering (3 years after SSC) with minimum 60% marks
Category-I (18 Posts)
Chemical Plant Operator
SSC (10 years of School) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Science and Mathematics Plus ITI certificate in Fitter / Chemical Plant Operation / Electronics / Instrumentation / Electrical of not less than 2 years duration / NCTVT (put together) of not less than 3 years duration. (For trades for which duration of ITI course is less than 2 years, the candidate should have one year relevant experience after completion of the course). However, duration of the recognized course shall not be less than one year. Candidates passed HSC (10 + 2) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can also apply for the Chemical Plant Operator.
The reservation (replacement roster point) for the Cat. I & II Trainees are :
Category I- SC-04, ST-02, OBC-02
Category II-SC-04, ST-03, OBC-02
One post of Category I (Electronics Discipline) is reserved for Candidates with Hearing impairment with loss of Sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies.
For Category I:(i) Those candidates who have passed M.Sc / Degree in Engg / AMIE / equivalent or appearing for M.Sc / Degree in Engg / AMIE / equivalent (final year) will not be considered, and hence need not apply.
For Category II:Those candidates who have passed B.Sc / Diploma in Engg / AMIE / Degree in Engg / equivalent or appearing for B.Sc / Diploma in Engg / AMIE / Degree in Engg / equivalent (final year) will not be considered, and hence need not apply.
Age limit:Minimum 19 years and maximum 24 years (as on 01 / 01 / 2008) for Category I, and minimum 18 years and maximum 22 years (as on 01 / 01 / 2008) for Category II, Relaxation of five years in age is admissible to SC / ST and three years to OBC candidates.
Note:Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during 1st January 1980 to 31sl December 1989. A certificate from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir division within whose jurisdiction he had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of J & K to the effect that he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division during the above period is required to be submitted.
Relaxation in upper age limit (Hearing impairment Cat-I) :Relaxation in upper age limit up to 10 years (15 years for SC, ST and 13 years for OBC).
Physical Standards:Minimum Height: 160 cms. Minimum Weight: 45.5 kgs. (Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)
Total duration of the Training Period:One year for Category-I. and Two years
Stipend during Training:Rs.6, 500/- p.m. for Category I, and Rs.4000/- p.m. for 1st year and 5000/- p.m. for 2nd year for category II.
Selection:A written test of one-hour duration will be conducted. Successful candidates will be interviewed on the following day. Option to answer either in English or Hindi will be given at interview. Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mysore for 2 days for the written test / Interview. Candidates are called for written examination based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification and number of vacant posts indicated. The marks scored by a candidate in written examination conducted by RMP / BARC are considered for screening of the candidate to be eligible to be called for technical interviews. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview, as; adjudged by the Selection Committee.
Scope of Training:Selected candidates will be given training at Mysore in various aspects of relevant trades, as per prescribed syllabi of each trade and for meeting stringent requirement of BARC / RMR
Grade after successful completion of Training:Upon successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered for absorption in one of the following grades depending on their performance during the period of training and interview to be held at the end of the training. Based on the performance during training additional increments may be given on appointment.

Plus allowances such as DA, HRA & CCA as admissible under Central Government Rules.
Bond: Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the training and serve RMP / BARC or any of the constituent Units of DAE, if offered appointment after the training, for a period of 4 years after absorption. A trainee who fails to complete the training or serve the Government for 4 years if offered appointment will be liable to pay to the Government a sum equivalent to entire aggregate amount of stipend received by him during the period of training along with interest there on.
Note:The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories involve working in round the olock shift duties, in operational plants and areas. Candidates selected against this advertisement are likely to be posted at Mysore but are liable to serve in any part of India and in any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.
Traveling Allowance :SC / ST candidates called for interview which will be held in Mysore will be paid Traveling Allowance as per rules. However, Traveling Allowance is not admissible to those SC / ST candidates who are already in Central / State Government services, Central / State Government Corporation.,Public Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats.

2. Application should preferably be type written on thick foolscap paper.
3. The Application and the outer cover should be superscribed.
4. Candidates must fill the application forms in CAPITAL LETTERS in his / her own handwriting in English or Hindi and should use as far as possible only international form of Indian numerals.
5.Photograph:A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right hand top corner of the application. One additional copy of the passport size photograph should also be sent along with the application.
6.Envelope:A self addressed unstamped envelope (size 11 x 20) should be attached to the application.
7. Copies of the Certificates:Candidates should submit along with their application attested SINGLE COPY of certificate of:
Educational qualifications / experience, and technical qualifications (supported by appropriate marks sheet indicating the subjects offered at the examination).
Date of Birth.
Their claim that they belong to SC / ST community.
Non-creamy Layer Certificate in the case of OBC candidates.
Certificate issued by the Competent Authorities regarding their claim that they belong to Ex-Servicemen / Physically Handicapped.
Domicile certificate (applicable for candidates, who domiciled in J & K during the period from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89)
(a) Persons working under the Central / State Govt / Public Sector Undertakings should submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy of the application along with enclosures as detailed above to the address given below.
(b) Candidates who will be appointed against this advertisement will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme which has come in to effect from 01.01.2004
8.Warning :Applications which are not in conformity with the requirements indicated, filled in languages other than English or Hindi and which are not in the prescribed form size in fool scap (size: 34 x 22 cms) or are not accompanied by the attested copies of certificates, photographs, self addressed unstamped envelope of the prescribed size will be strictly rejected. Mere fulfilling of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for an interview. No correspondence will be entertained with candidates not selected for an interview / appointment.
9. In case the response is more, the screening will be restricted to those with higher percentage of marks.
