CIRT is the technical organ for Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) and a Centre of Excellence engaged in testing of vehicle components, training, and research and consultancy studies in the road transport field.

The post carries the pay Scale of Rs.18400-500-22400 and allowances / perks as per ASRTU rules which are generally in line With Central Government rules. Earmarked accommodation in campus is also provided.

ASRTU is looking for a person who can lead the institute to greater heights in its field of activities and expand its operations into new related fields.

Essential qualifications are.

• Post-graduate in any field Ph.D. in relevant field or higher education in management would be desirable.
• Minimum 15 years of administrative and managerial experience of a responsible position: at least 5 years of which in the field of road transport in the capacity of Head of Department or higher
• At least 15 years experience in a reputed transport research / training institute / organization, at least 5 years of which in the capacity of Head of Department / Institution.
• Age between 45 to 55 years as on 16th July 2007

The post would be filled up either by a fixed-term contact or by deputation of a suitable officer from Governments / Government bodies. The appointed will be for a period of three years extendable by two years or till the attainment of age of 58 years whichever is easier.
