Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), is a Scientific Society of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India.

C-DAC's areas of expertise range from R&D work in Foundation Technologies to Product Development, IP Generation and Technology Transfer, Deployment of Solutions in various sectors directly or through partnership model, High Performance Computing and grid computing; language computing & speech processing; computer science & software technologies including Free & Open Source software; and Professional Electronics including Embedded Systems, Platforms, Specialized Hardware, Broadband and Wireless Control Systems & Cyber-Security.

C-DAC, Kolkata is increasing its thrust in R&D and Consultancy and Market Orientation to support the needs of the industry, uses and entrepreneurs in many core competency areas of C-DAC including:-

Applications are invited for the post of Executive Director for Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) at Kolkata in the pay scale of Rs.18400-500-22400 (with allowances as per Central Govt. Rules) and it is to be filled by Direct Recruitment/ Transfer (absorption) basis

Applicants shall be expected to demonstrate leadership in institution building, mentoring teams to undertake high quality R&D and deliver technologies, IP, products and solutions directly or through Partnership of great value and uniqueness to the target users.

Besides, working in conjunction with other centres of C-DAC spread across India and functioning, they as Board Members of C-DAC, strengthen the larger organization to emerge as a cohesive national entity of greater repute in the country and abroad. The incumbent is expected to join duty in the month of January 2009.

Age: Not more than 50 years as on last date of the receipt of the application (Relaxation applicable as per Govt, of India norms).
