Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) offers challenging career opportunities to experienced Engineers Jobs in the following areas:

1. Operation of Nuclear Research Reactors
2. Operation of Process plants in Nuclear fuel cycle facilities
3. Operation of Waste Immobilisation Plants

Applications are invited from qualified, experienced and highly committed engineers to shoulder responsibilities for operation of nuclear facilities as per the following requirements immediately.

Name of the Post: Scientific Officer / Engineer 'D' (Group`A' Gazetted Post)

Scale of Pay: Rs.10000 - 325 - 15200 (Total emoluments in the minimum of the pay scale is approximately Rs.2.8 lakhs per annum at present for Class-A1 city and is likely to be revised upwards, on implementation of the recommendations of the 6th pay Commission.)

Number of Vacancies: 40 (Forty)

Qualification: M.E/M.Tech or B.E/B.Tech (minimum 60% marks) from a recognised university

Disciplines (Code): Mechanical (01)/Chemical(02)/ Electrical (03)/Electronics & Instrumentation (04)

Experience: 2 years for M.E/M. Tech & 4 years for B.E/ B.Tech in Operation of nuclear/ thermal power plant, Chemical Plant, large manufacturing units after obtaining the requisite qualification.

Age Limit: 30 years as on 1st January 2007

Place of Work: BARC, Trombay (Mumbai), Tarapur (Maharashtra), Kalpakkam (Tamil Nadu), Mysore (Karnataka)

Nature of Work: Selected candidates will get opportunity to take up the responsibility of operating State- of -the -Art facilities including Research Reactors, Chemical Process Plants, Fuel Fabrication Facilities, Nuclear Waste Management Plants etc.

General Conditions:

1. Candidates will be called for technical interview based on their academic records and experience in the relevant field. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview.
2. Selected candidates, on their appointment, will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme.
3. Selected candidates are likely to be posted at BARC, Mumbai, Tarapur (Maharashtra) and Kalpakkam (Tamil Nadu), Mysore (Karnataka), but they are also liable to be posted to any part of India in any of the constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.
4. The candidates called for interview from outstation for the above post will be paid to and fro rail fare by SECOND CLASS/ SLEEPER or actual fare whichever is less.

Each application should be accompanied by non-refundable crossed Indian Postal Order/DD for Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty only) payable at Mumbai in favour of Accounts Officer, BARC. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, dependents of defence service personnel killed in action and persons with physical disability are exempted from attaching Postal Order/DD to their application. Persons with physical disability should produce necessary certificate from Govt. Hospital/Medical Board in support of their claim.

How to Apply:

1. APPLICATION, preferably typewritten on thick foolscap paper should be submitted in the proforma given below.
2. The envelope should be superscribed as "Application for the post of _______________ against Advertisement No. 3/2007(R-IV).
3. PHOTOGRAPH: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed in the space provided for in the application and one additional copy of the passport size photograph should be sent along with the application.
4. ENVELOPE: A self addressed unstamped envelope (size 24 cm x 10 cm) should be attached to the application.
5. COPIES OF CERTIFICATES: Candidates should submit along with their applications attested SINGLE COPY of certificates of:
• Educational qualifications & technical qualifications (Mark sheets & degree certificates)
• Work Experience
• Date of Birth (Matriculation/Secondary Examination certificate or equivalent certificate)
• The proof of claim that the candidate belongs to SC/ST (applicable to SC/ST candidates only)
• Appropriate authority regarding physical disability (applicable to persons with physical disability)
• Proof of dependent of defence service personnel killed in action.

NOTE:

• Candidates working as regular employees/trainees in Government / Semi Government, Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous organizations or any organizations which is aided by Government should apply through proper channel. In case they anticipate delay in forwarding the applications by their employer, they may submit an advance copy in the prescribed proforma.
