International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is an experimental fusion reactor being constructed at Cadarache, France under an international partnership agreement.

After a construction period of about 10 years, ITER aims to demonstrate feasibility of controlled generation of fusion energy and generate new results in burning plasma experiments over the next thirty years, charting a new frontier in fusion science and technology.

India as a participating country will contribute one tenth of the equipments to the project and aims to develop new technologies for fusion energy.

ITER-lndia is a specially empowered program in the Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat State for the design, development, procurement and commissioning of some of the systems, which belong to India's share in ITER construction.

Qualification and Experience:

Candidates having following educational qualification can apply.

Engineering: Graduates / Post Graduates (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering).

Physics: Post Graduates. First Class in the graduation or post graduation level from a govt, recognized university or institute is essential.

A higher qualification in relevant areas will be an added advantage for all posts and grades. ITER-lndia may consider appropriate pay for a deserving candidate.

Nature of works: Design & analysis, documentation, quality assurance, procurements, test, erection, commissioning or related activities in any of the specialty areas: large size pressure vessels, precision manufacturing, ryogenics, vacuum systems, high power RF / microwave, power and control electronics, HV engineering, Spectroscopy, Particle Accelerators, etc.

The activity involves working in India and abroad, depending on the needs of the construction phase.

Salary and Qualifications: Pay Scales, Grades, required qualification and experiences are as below:

Selected candidates will be absorbed in the positions of Engineer/ Scientist (SD or SC) depending on experience and qualification. All posts are located at Gandhinagar, Gujarat state.

The pay scales are likely to be revised subject to acceptance of the recommendations of the 6" pay commission.

Total emolument consists of Basic Pay, Deamess Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Professional Upgrade Allowance, etc., as per government rules.

Medical facilities for self and dependents under its Contributory Health Service Scheme, Free Transport or Transport Allowance, Subsidized canteen facilities. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme.
