Applications from Indian Nationals are invited in the prescribed form for recruitment of one post of Junior Hindi Translator (Unreserved) at this Institute in the pay scale Rs. 5000-150-8000 plus usual allowances (likely to be revised).
Age Limit:
Not exceeding 28 years as on the last date fixed for receipt of completed application form.
Relaxation of age upto 5 years will be admissible to Government servants/Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir; and upto 10 years for Persons with Disabilities as per Goverment of India/CSIR rules,orders/instructions issued from time to time as applicable for such categories.
There is no age restriction for CSIR employees.
Essential Qualification & Experience:
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a main subject at the degree level or
Master’s Degree of arecognised University in any subject with Hindi as the medium of instruction and examination with English as a compulsory subject at degree level or
Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subject or either of the two as medium of examination and other as a main subject plus recognised Diploma/Certificate Course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English & vice versa in Central/State Government Offices including Government of India Undertakings.
Desirable:- Knowledge of computer.
Job Requirement:
The incumbent will be required to translate official correspondence/scientific literature from English to Hindi and vice versa.
The candidate will also be required to do original office work in Hindi.
He/She will also render assistance in implementation of provisions of Official Language Act/Rules/policy and the orders/instructions issued thereunder, in the Institute.
Any other work as assigned by the superiors.

Those who qualify in the written examination will be called for interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks secured by the candidates in papers I and II of the written examination and the interview.
Syllabus of Examination: Paper-I (Translation): The paper will contain four passages for translation, two passages for translation from Hindi into English and two passages for translation from English into Hindi.

- General English-75
Marks:- The questions will be designed to test candidate’s understanding of the language and correct use of words, phrases and idioms, ability to write the language correctly, precisely and effectively.
