The National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) is a premier research Institution under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.

NIO conducts pure and applied research on all aspects of Ocean Sciences andsupports various industries, government and non-governmental organisations through Consultancy and Contract Research & Development.

Junior Technical Assistant – Group III(1); [Junior Engineer – Gr. II]

Scale of Pay: Rs.4,500-125-7,000/- (likely to be revised)

Minimum Educational Qualification:

First Class, Diploma in Civil Engineering of 3 years full time duration from a government approved and recognized Institution / technical boards.

Desirable experience:

Some experience in the civil construction, supervision and related works. Proficiency in usage of computer with applications like MS Word, Excel & Auto CAD.

Job requirements:

The candidate is required to work and assist in preparation of abstract /preliminary / detailed estimate for civil works, Checking of estimate submitted by the architects, Preparation of tender documents, Preparation of market rate analysis, comparative statements, Preparation of running bills, final bills, revised estimate, Preparation of work proposals for obtain approval from the competent authority, Supervision of new civil works and maintenance related to institute buildings / properties as per the requirements.

First Class, Diploma in Electrical Engineering of 3 years full time duration from a government approved and recognized institution / technical board.

Desirable Experience:

Some experience in the maintenance and supervision of electrical sub-stations,electrical distribution systems and related works. Proficiency in usage of computer with applications like MS Word, Excel & Auto CAD.

Job requirements:

The candidate is required to maintain and supervise the internal electrical substation, DG set, low, medium and high capacity UPS systems.

Also should have good working knowledge in Electrical wiring and distribution, preparing of electrical estimate and execution of the new electrical requirements and day to day electrical repair and maintenance related works.

Benefits under CSIR Service:

  • These posts carry usual allowances i.e. dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), city compensatory allowance (CCA), transport allowance (TA) etc., as admissible to central government employees at the place of posting and as made applicable to CSIR.
    Council accommodation will be allotted as per priority to be reckoned from the date of joining/availability, in which case HRA & TA will not be admissible.
  • In addition to the emoluments indicated above, benefits such as provident fund, applicability of new Pension scheme, reimbursement of medical expenses, leave travel concession, conveyance / computer / house building advance are available as per rules of CSIR.

Relaxations:

  • Age limit: Age should not exceed the limit prescribed for OBC category as on the closing date of receipt of application i.e 5-9-2008. Upper age limit is however relaxable for 3 years as per Government of India Orders.
  • Age relaxation of 5 years is permissible for those working in CSIR/Government / Autonomous bodies / Public Sector undertakings.
  • Relaxation of 5 years will also be permissible to those who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989, subject to production of relevant certificate from concerned authority.
