NIRD is the country's apex body for undertaking training, research, action research and consultancy functions in all aspects of rural development.

It provides an inter-disciplinary academic environment, backed by an excellent infrastructure including a specialized library and state-of-art research and computer facilities.

NIRD invites applications in the prescribed format for the following Non-academic posts:

Assistant Registrar- Two posts (on deputation basis, not exceeding three years) Scale of pay of Rs.15600-39100 + 6600 grade pay

Essential:

  1. A degree from a recognised University
  2. Minimum 5 years experience in a responsible/ supervisory / administrative position in Goverment/ quasi-government / academic / autonomous organisation,
  3. Fully conversant with the Goverment rules and regulations/office procedures and administrative matters/maintenance of accounts, stores, purchase procedures, maintenance of equipment and supply/ estate maintenance.

Desirable:Post Graduation / Degree in Law/ Master in Business Administration (MBA)/ Degree or Diploma in Personnel Management from a recognised University.

Note: In case of persons with high academic qualifications such as MBA, personnel management, qualifications prescribed at item (ii) and (iii) may be relaxed.

Age: Below 45 years.

Assistant Financial Adviser & Pay and Accounts Officer (AFA & PAO) - One Post(on deputation basis, not exceeding three years) Scale of Pay Rs.15600-39100+6600 grade pay.

Essential:Accounts Officers with not less than six years of service (Indian Audit & Accounts Department) or in other Accounts Organizations in the Ministries/Departments of the Goverment of India (controlled by the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, Controller General of Defence Accounts, Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts etc.)

Deputy Director (Official Language) - one post(Direct Recruitment) Scale of Pay 15600-39100 + 6600 grade pay

Essential:

  1. A first or high second class Master's degree in Hindi with English as an elective subject at the degree level and with a Doctorate in Hindi from a recognized University
  2. Seven years of experience of original writing as indicated by published work or terminological work in Hindi or translation work from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
  3. Adequate knowledge of Sanskrit
  4. Seven years of experience in translation of Social Science research material or material of equivalent nature.
  5. Proven ability in editing and bringing out publications in Hindi in large organizations preferably dealing with Social Sciences.

Desirable:

  1. Experience of organizing workshops, seminars etc. in Hindi
  2. Administrative Experience
  3. Knowledge of any other modem Indian Language.

Junior Engineer (Civil) - One post(On deputation basis till December, 2010 on normal deputation terms of GOI). Extendable for a further period as per requirement of the Institute upto a maximum of 3 years. Scale of pay of Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 grade pay

Essential:The Junior Engineers or other Engineers of equivalent rank working for more than three years in Civil Wing of any Goverment Department or Organization are eligible to apply.

Age: Below 35 years.

Junior Hindi Translator - reserved for SC category Scale of pay of Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 grade pay

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Master's Degree in English/ Hindi with Hindi/ English as a compulsory and elective subject at Degree level or Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective).
  2. Two years of experience in translation work from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
  3. Experience in proof reading and handling production of publications in Hindi.

Age: Below 35 years.

Note: Persons with disabilities of one leg affected (OL), both legs affected (BL) and partially deaf (PD) can also apply for the post.

Nursing Orderly - One Post Scale of Pay Rs.4440-7440 plus Grade Pay Rs.1300

Essential: Middle School pass with first aid certificate from Recognized Institute plus one year's experience.

Age: Between 18-25 years

Compensation Package:DA, HRA, Transport allowances and all other allowances as applicable to Central Goverment, employees.Residential accommodation on payment of normal rent in NIRD Campus will be provided subject to availability.

General Conditions:

  1. Employed personnel should submit their applications through proper channel. Advance copies/ direct applications will be considered. However, applicants will have to produce no objection certificate from the employer at the time of interview.
  2. In case of serving personnel, pay certificate duly signed by the pay drawing authority should be attached along with details of experience and present status.
  3. Mere fulfilment of the qualifications prescribed does not entitle the candidate to be called for interview.
  4. In case of large number of applications, the Institute may shortlist the candidates as may be necessary.
  5. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
  6. No correspondence will be entertained as regards short-listing, calling for interview, selection or appointment.
  7. Candidates selected are likely to be posted at any place in India depending upon the requirements of the Institut.
  8. Candidates should stay in the campus of the Istitute.
  9. The prescribed age of superannuation is 60 years for the employees of NIRD.

Note: For the posts at SI. Nos. 1 & 2, the maximum age-limit for appointment by transfer on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.

  2. Earlier advertisement published in Times of India Dt.19.6.2008 and Employment News dated 5-11 July, 2008 in the case of the posts of Assistant Registrar and DD (OL) stands cancelled due to administrative reasons.
  3. Prescribed applications duly filled-in, and supported by all relevant documents should reach the Registrar, NIRD on or before 03.08.2009.
