North Eastern Railway Employment Notice for filling up Group ‘D’ Posts in North Eastern Railway and DLW / Varanasi Date of issue: 06.12.2007 Postal Address- Deputy Chief Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, North Eastern Railway Headquarters, CCM's Annexe Building, Railway Road No.14, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh-273012 www.nerailway.gov.in Detailed Notification. l.1 Application on plain A-4 size paper, in the given format are invited from the citizens of India and from such other persons declared eligible by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt, of India for filling up 4,549 Group 'D' posts in the Divisions and Workshops of North Eastern Railway and DLW / Varanasi. 1.2 Application in prescribed format may be sent by ordinary post addressed to the "Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, North Eastern Railway Headquarters, CCM's Annexe Building, Railway Road No.14, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh-273012" upto 17.00 hrs. on the closing date i.e. 07.01.2008. Alternatively, application can also be dropped into the Application Box at the Railway Recruitment Cell, North Eastern Railway CCM's Annexe Building, Railway Road No.14, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh-273012 kept for this purpose up to 17.00 hrs. on the closing date i.e. 07.01.2008. The envelopes containing the application should be clearly super scribed "Application for Gr.D posts - North Eastern Railway against-Employment Notice No. NER/RRC/D/2007/1". Applications received after closing date and time will not be entertained. 1.3 For candidates staying in Andaman-Nicobar-Lakshadweep islands, closing date will be 22.01.2008 up to 17.00 hrs. 1.4 Applications received after closing date and time will not be entertained. 1.5 The envelope containing the application should be clearly super scribed "Application for Group 'D' posts - North Eastern Railway". Physically handicapped persons should mention 'Physically Handicapped Candidate' at the top right of the envelope. 1.6 A candidate should submit only one application form, even if he/she intends to be considered for more than one or all categories. Candidates submitting more than one application form will not be considered and even if such a candidate gets selected inadvertently, he/she will not be offered appointment. Candidates are advised to give their options in order of priority for categories and place of posting as given in Para 2.(i) and 2.(ii) However, this would not confer any right on the candidates and North Eastern Railway Administration reserves the right to allot the successful candidates any of the posts/place in North Eastern Railway & DLW/Varanasi. 1.7 Date and time of examination will be fixed based on administrative feasibility. No request for change of time, date and centre of examination will be entertained on any account. 1.8 Candidates trying to use influence or unfair means would be disqualified. 1.9 The recruitment will be conducted by Railway Recruitment Cell, North Eastern Railway (hereinafter referred to as RRC/NER).
Break up of the post for PH candidates: For category No. 6 : VH-14, OH- 14, HH- 14. For category No. 4: VH- 14 , OH- 14, HH- 14. 2. (i) Codes for Indicating Priority of Category for which Recruitment is being Undertaken:-
(iii) The final empanelment of finally selected candidates will be done in the order of priority of Category, followed by choice of Division/ Workshop/ HQ Unit strictly as per merit order duly fulfilling community reservation rules and earmarked quotas specified in this notification. Applicants are advised to give all the available options / choices of posts and recruitment units in the order of priority in the relevant boxes provided in the prescribed Application Form. In case, a candidate gives only some of the available options / choices and if as per his merit there is no vacancy available to accommodate him / her in the Division / Workshop/HQ Unit of his / her choice, then it will be the discretion of the administration to allot him / her against any of the left over vacancies. No change of option / choice, once exercised shall be permitted at any stage. (iv) Ex casual labourers of N.E.Railway, who fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions as laid down in this notification, may also apply. Note: - The physically handicapped candidates will be posted against the post identified by Railway Ministry suitable for such candidates. The description of posts reserved for PH candidates as given above may not be exhaustive. (a) Vacancies/categories indicated above are only tentative and arc liable to change. (b) The vacancies shown above for EX-SM and PH persons are not separate but included in the total vacancies itself. Abbreviations: -
