The Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata a premier Forensic Science Institute under Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt, of India undertakes examination of different crime exhibits in civil and criminal cases.
This institution extends services to Central Investigating Agencies of different regions of India and also to neighboring countries. To implement official language policy, 3 regions viz. ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’ have been constituted in the country as per the Official Language Rules, 1976. The examination reports are issued in accordance with Rajbhasa policy of the country.
The Institution is required one post of Hindi Translator Grade II in the Pay Band PB-2

4200/- to be filled up by transfer on deputation or transfer from amongst Central government offices holding :

A.
- Analogous posts, or
- Posts in the pay scale of
4000 – 100 – 6000/ – (Pre-revised) or equivalent or with three years regular service in the grade or - Posts in the scale of pay of
3000 – 75 – 3950 – 80 – 4950/- (Pre-revised) or equivalent or with five years regular service in the grade.
B. Possessing the educational and other qualifications indicated below :
Master’s degree in Hindi and English as a subject at Degree level or Master’s degree in English and Hindi as a subject at Degree level or from a recognized University. OR
Master’s degree in any subject or any equivalent examination with Hindi and English as a subject at degree level from a recognized University. OR Master’s degree or its equivalent examination with Hindi medium English as a subject at Degree level. OR
Bachelor’s degree of recognized University with Hindi and English as compulsory / elective subjects or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as compulsory / elective subject plus a recognized diploma certificate.
The selected candidate should be familiar with scientific terminology as he / she has to translate of records / documents and report in bilingual format.
The candidate should also having the knowledge of (1) Computer (2) Bilingual Software System (3) Translation of scientific / administrative works.
The candidate selected will be governed by G.I. Department of Personnel & Training, OM No.2/12/7-Estt. (Pay-II), dated 29/4/1988 as amended from time to time.
Initially the period of deputation would be one year and can be extended up to three years by year to year basis. Presently the vacancy is in the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata but liable to serve anywhere in India.
The officers who volunteer for the post will not be permitted to withdraw their names later. Recommendation of name of the suitable and willing officer who can be spared immediately is to be forwarded as per Annexure-II along with last 5 years ACR Dossiers up to 31.03.2008, the vigilance clearance certificate, integrity certificates and a certificate to the effect that no major / minor penalties have been imposed against the applicant during the last ten year through proper channel to the following address :
