Director of an NIT being the academic as well as administrative head is expected to have proven administrative, teaching and research background ( including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level ) with leadership qualities. The appointment shall be made on contract basis for a term of five years or till the attainment of the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Director Age Limit : The candidate applying for the post should preferably be below 60 years of age at the time of applying.
Qualification and Experience for Director Jobs :
Ph.D. Degree with first class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s level in Engineering / Technology. In case of candidates who have obtained Ph D. directly after B.E. / B.Tech., they should have obtained 1st class at Bachelor’s level in Engineering / Technology. In addition, the candidate shall be an eminent person in his / her field of specialization with an outstanding academic record throughout. The candidate shall have 15 years experience in Teaching / Industry / Research out of which 10 years must be at the level of Professor or above in a reputed educational institute, Industry / Research Organisations.
National Institutes of Technology ( NITs ) are autonomous Institutions fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Directors will be appointed after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority, based on the recommendations made by the Selection Committee. Ministry of Human Resource Development applications I Nominations are invited from eminent persons for appointment to the post of Director, Indian Institute of Technology ( Banaras Hindu University ), Varanasi ( IIT ( BHU ), Varanasi ). The Director of an liT, being the academic as well as administrative head, is expected to have proven administrative, teaching and research background ( including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level ) with the leadership qualities to head this Institute of National importance.
The candidate / person should be a Ph.D., with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with an outstanding academic record throughout and a minimum of 10 years experience as a Professor in a reputed Educational Institute ( relaxable in case of an outstanding candidate ). Applicant should preferably be not more than 60 years of age. The post carries fixed pay of

IITs are autonomous institutions fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The major functions of Directorate of Adult Education are :
- Academic and Technical Resource support to the National Literacy Mission Authority.

- Overseeing skill up gradation and training programmes.
The duties of the Junior Administrative Officer are as under :

- Handles all the Administrative matters relating to Staff working in DAE.
- Handles all the matters to Cash & Accounts of DAE office.
