Special Recruitment Drive for filling up of posts of Principals under SC / ST category

Applications are invited eligible persons for filling up 05 posts belonging to SC category and 15 posts belonging to ST category in the scale of pay of Rs.1000-325-15200/- in Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti on direct recruitment basis. The posts of Principal are for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, co-educational residential schools, located in almost all districts in the country. Out of these posts, one is earmarked for Persons with locomotor disability.

Eligibility Condition: Educational Qualification & Experiene

Essential:

1. Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks.
2. B.Ed or equivalent teaching degree.
3. Persons working in any of the Government / Semi Government / Government recognized / CBSE affiliated Senior Secondary (10+2) School / Inter College.
a) Holding analogous posts or
b) Vice-Principal in the scale of pay of Rs.7, 500-250-12000/- / Rs.8,000-275-13,500/- with 10 years experience / service as PGT / Lecturer in the scale of pay of Rs.6500-200-10500/- Rs.7,500-250-12,000/- or
c) A minimum of 12 years experience / service as PGT / Master / Lecturer in the scale of Rs.6, 500-200-10,500/- (revised) or equivalent in the secondary school

Desirable:

1. At least three years experience as a House Master of fully residential school
2. Experience of working in a fully residential / CBSE affiliated / Government recognized school
3. Proficiency in English and Hindi / concerned regional language

Age: Between 35 to 45 years

Job Description:

As principal you will be the Head of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, a co-educational residential school, set up in most of the districts in the country with the main object of providing quality modern education of children predominantly from rural areas. You will be responsible to provide the leadership to a term of about 40-50 teaching and non-teaching staff to achieve excellence in academic and non-academic areas, safety and security schedules and overall administration of the Vidyalaya.

Instruction to Candidates:

1. Cut off date for determining various eligibility criteria (educational qualifications, age limit, experience etc) will be 31st March 2007.
2. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility before applying Prescribed essential qualifications are not only a criterion of eligibility for consideration and does not entitle a candidate to be necessarily selected
3. Age relaxation: Relaxation in upper age limit as per Government of India rules will be admissible.
4. Applications of candidates belonging to ST and SC categories only will be considered.
5. The candidates must apply only in the application format published as Annexure to this advertisement and may also utilize it in original. If needed, this published as Annexure to this typed or printed neatly on white paper of foolscap size (21cm × 30 cm) in double space only on one side of the paper. No forms will be supplied by NVS.
6. Selected candidates are liable to be posted / transferred anywhere in India.
7. Candidates working in Government departments, Autonomous Organizations, Recognized Institutions etc. must submit their applications through proper channel.
8. Envelope containing the application must be suberscribed in bold letters “Application for the post of Principal in NVS”.
9. Applications must be accompanied with attested photocopies of certificates in proof of age, qualifications, experience, pay scale and category.
10. Duly filled in application must reach by ordinary post only within 30 days of publication of this notification at the address given below:

Candidates residing in the North Eastern States of Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripra, Assam, Sikkim and remote areas like Lahaul Spiti, Ladakh (J&K) Andaman and Nicobar, Islands, Lakshwadeep Island will be allowed 10 days additional time for submission of applications.
11. Application submitted a different format or at a different address other than that given above shall not be entertained.
