Applications are invited for the posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the fellowship Rs.8000.00 p.m. in the following DBT-funded research projects.

  1. Molecular genetic analysis of orofacial disorders – Principal Investigator Prof. Rajiva Raman, Dept. Zoology and Coordinator, Programme Support on Genetic Disorders.
  2. A population study on the 1-Carbon metabolism pathway genes, levels of homocysteine, nutrition status and disease susceptibility – Principal Investigator Prof. Rajiva Raman, Dept. Zoology and Coordinator, Programme Support on Genetic Disorders.
  3. Mutational analysis of bilirubin uridinediphosphate glucuronosy 1transferase gene in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia – Principal Investigator Dr Ashok Kumar, Dept. Paediatrics, Institute of Medical Sciences and Programme Support on Genetic Disorders.
  4. Endocrine and genetic evaluation of intersex – Principal Investigator Prof. S.K. Singh, Dept. Endocrinology & Metabolism and Programme Support on Genetic Disorders.

The projects are sanctioned up to October 2009. The post is purely temporary and coterminus with the project. Net or Gate cleared candidates with at least 55% marks in M. Sc. in Human Genetics/Genetics/Zoology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or related subjects with age not exceeding 28 years are eligible to apply. Candidates with MD/MS degrees are also eligible to apply for the projects. A relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit will be given to SC/ST/physically Handicapped candidates. Candidates with experience in research in the area of the project will be preferred. All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
