Applications invited for the office of Director

Over the last 14 years, we at Karpagam, have worked towards earning the Accreditation, Autonomy and the status of an Indian University. Re-dedicating ourselves to the cause of higher education, we are planning to establish the following schools during the next 14 years, to achieve International accreditation by the year 2022.

These schools shall create, discover, conserve and disseminate knowledge to solve the day to day problems faced by the present civilization. To make this possible, we are looking for dynamic Directors to lead each school.

1	School of Earth Sciences to study and preserve scarce natural resources. to identify new materials and techniques for oil exploration, mining and water conservation during the International year of Planet Earth (2007-2009)
2	School of Energy Sciences to identify ways to bridge the demand - supply gap of energy consumption, tap more hydel and renewable energy sources, find cost-effective solutions for energies, strive for energy independence, carry out research on bio-fuels, fuel cells, hydrogen and biomass energy.
3	School of Environmental Sciences to create pollution-free systems and eco-friendly environment. to find ways to reduce global warming and protect forest wealth, wildlife, ecology and environment. to better the utility of huge biodiversity, focus on waste management, C02 and water to establish excellent labs for testing water and other resources.
4	School of Basic Sciences to identify ways to attract young blood into the science stream and mould them as ideal science teachers, scientists and researchers and also explore thrust areas to focus on fundamental research and growth of pure science.
5	School of Social Sciences to produce social workers/ scientists/ counsellors to play active roles in the development of under-privileged, mentally retarded and physically challenged children, orphans,the elderly, HIV victims and women by establishing self help groups, NGOs, Microcredit finance & Human Rights associations.
6	School of Economics to provide outstanding economists who can help in eradicating poverty, improving the life of the common man, advising the Government in improving the GDP, controlling inflation and striving for economic growth.
7	School of Higher Education and Research To encourage students and guides to do research and obtain Ph.D with periodical follow-ups. to produce more number of Ph.D. candidates from India.

Profile: The Director shall be to tally in charge of the respective schools. He/She has to prepare the Vision- Mission document and curriculum, assisted by a team to be recruited by him/her. The Director will have to report to the Vice Chancellor on a daily basis.

Compensation: This is a permanent post with the pay scale of Rs. 27,600 - 420 - 33600 + DA as per Government Norms + HRA. Attractive incentives will be paid for consultancy / sponsored projects.

Eligibility Criteria: Ph.D. holder with 15 years of relevant work experience with good publication record.
