Faculty Recruitment for Readers and Lecturers

Application in the prescribed form is invited from the qualified candidates for appointment to the following teaching posts in the school of management & business studies of the university.

General Instructions

A) Qualification and Experience: As prescribed by the UGC and Mahatma Gandhi University Regulations. 1. Category A: Readers: Essential Qualifications: a) Good Academic record with Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work in the specialized subjects. b) Candidates should also have at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of Bin the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at Master’s Degree level. C) 5 years experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees.

2. Category B: Lecturers- Essential Qualification: Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates should have cleared the eligibility test (NET), for lectures conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. However, the candidates having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET.

Desirable Qualifications: 1) Lecturer in General Management/organization Behavior/Human Resource Management: a. Fellow of IIM/IIT/TISS/XLRI or Ph.D in General Management or organizational Behavior/Human Resource management. B. Industry relevant experience. ii) Lecturer in Marketing Management a. Fellow of IIM. b. Ph.D in Marketing or in E Commerce. C. Professional experience in Nationality or Internationally reputed organizations as Senior Marketing Manager. iii) Lecturer in Computer and Information Technology. A. Associate Membership in Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or Cost and Works Accountants (ICWA) or Chartered Financial Analyst. b. Ph.D in Financial Management/Port Folio Management.

B) Age as on 1-1-2006:

Reader: Not more than 45 years.
Lecturer: Not more than 40 years.

Relaxation of age limit is admissible in the case of candidates presently working in University/College service. SC/ST and OBC candidates are eligible for usual relaxation.

C) Other conditions: The appointments against the above vacancies will be made as per Mahatma Gandhi University Act 1985, Mahatma Gandhi University Status 1997, Mahatma Gandhi University Regulations, Kerala Service rules & Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules. Appointments shall be subject to the sanction from State Government.

D) How to apply: 1) Prescribed application forms along with instructions to the candidates can be downloaded from the Mahatma Gandhi University website www.mguniversity.edu ii) Demand drafts should be drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Mahatma Gandhi University payable at the State Bank of Travancore, M.G University Campus Branch-669, Kottayam (Dist). Duly filled in applications (6 copies) along with registration fees, copies of the documents to prove age, community, qualifications, experience, etc, should reach the registrar, Mahatma Gandhi, University, Priyadarshini, Hills P.O, Kottayam, Kerala, Pin Code 685 560 on or before 5th October 2006. Candidates belonging too reserved communities shall also be submit Non-Creamy-Layer Certificate. iii) Late and defective applications will be summarily rejected.

iv) Registration fees: Readers: Rs. 750/- Lecturers: Rs.300/-

(Candidates belonging to SC/ST community are exempted from payment of Registration fee in the case of Category B: Lecturers)
