Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar (Recognized by UGC) is established as the world class academic institution focusing on oil & gas and allied energy sectors. The University is established by the State Act in 2007 and is promoted by the Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI), the registered society of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation.

The PDPU University has launched the search for a brilliant, dynamic and visionary candidate for the statutory post of Director General of the University with responsibility of heading and leading the University as per mandate and charter of development ensuring internationally accredited quality standards of education and research.

Director General Job Description:

1. It is a full time post, the status being equivalent to that of the Vice Chancellor of a Central University.
2. Director General is the Chief Academic and Administrative functionary of the University and has powers and responsibilities listed in the University Act and further specified in the University Regulations.
3. With Doctorate by research in technology/ science/management/energy, he should have an excellent academic and research profile, preferably in the energy sector and should possess ability to interact closely with academicians and researchers, policy makers, corporate sector and multinational organizations.

He should have a wide academic and relevant administrative experience to play a leading role in creating a good work culture, develop a dynamic learning ambience and create an ethos of knowledge. He should have worked earlier in project mode for institution-building.

4. The candidate is expected to have relevant experience of about 20 years and should preferably be in the age group of 50 to 65 years.
5. The appointment is for a tenure of five years, in the first instance.
6. The emoluments will be at least at par with that of the Vice Chancellor of a Central University. Alternatively, negotiated consolidated financial package with usual perquisites may be offered, as per the recommendation of the Search Committee constituted for the purpose.
