Applications are invited for the posts of Professors, Readers, Lecturers in the following Departments of the University.

I. Scale of Pay:
- Professor: Rs.16, 400-450-20,900-500-22,400 plus usual allowances admissible.
- Reader: Rs.12, 400-420-18,300 plus usual allowances admissible.
- Lecturer: Rs.8, 000-275-13,500 plus usual allowances admissible.
II General Essential Qualification:
1. Professor:
An eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with ten years of experience in Post-graduate teaching and/or experience in research at the University / National Level Institutions, including experience of guiding research at doctoral level (or) An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge.
In exceptional cases, teachers with fifteen years of UG teaching / research experience will also be considered.
2. Reader:
Good academic record with Ph.D. degree or equivalent published work, in addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also possess atleast 55% of marks or an equivalent grade or B in the seven point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the Masters degree level.
Five years of experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarships as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
3. Lecturer:
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the Master's degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates should have cleared the eligibility (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR (OR) similar test accredited by the UGC.
Net shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer even for candidates having Ph.D. degree. However, the candidates who have completed M.Phil degree by 31st December 1993 or have submitted Ph.D. thesis to the University in the concerned subject on or before 31st December 2002 are exempted from appearing in the Net examinations. in case of such candidates fail to obtain Ph.D. degree they shall have to pass the Net examinations.
III.
A relaxation of 5% will be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, at the Masters level for SC/ST categories, Physically Handicapped and Visually Challenged persons.
A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Masters degree prior to 19th September 1991.
IV. No application fee shall be collected from the SC/ST and physically disabled candidates on production of attested copy of the Community Certificate / Physical Disability Certificate from the competent authority.
Note:
- The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post.
- The University reserves the right to shortlist the candidates.
- Application should be made only in the format prescribed by the University in Eight copies.
- Applications received after the last date will be summarily rejected.
- Enquiries on the above subject will not be entertained.
- Candidates called for interview will not be paid any TA / DA
- Candidates already in service should send their applications through proper channel.
Since the selection of candidates is based purely on merit, attempts to canvass or bring influence on the authorities to show favour during selection will be deemed as disqualification and the application of such candidates will be rejected.
