Applications in 08 (Eight) sets in the prescribed form from the eligible Indian citizens are invited for the following Teaching posts in the Post-Graduate Departments of Studies & Research & One Under-Graduate Department at Tumkur University, Tumkur. The eligible Indian Nationals who are residing abroad may also apply.
Scale of Pay:
1. Professor Rs.16400-450-20900-500-22400 Pay Scale as per UGC/State Govt. Norms with admissible allowances such as DA, HRA and CCA
2. Reader Rs.12000-420-18300 Pay may be protected and higher starts may be
3. Lecturer Rs.08000-275-13500 Considered in deserving and Exceptional cases.
Qualifications:
NOTE:
The Posts of Professor, Reader and Lecturers have to be filled as per the Qualification prescribed by the UGC/AICTE Norms.
In accordance with the Revised UGC Eligibility Criteria for the Post of Lecturers vide UGC Order No.F.No. 1-1/2002/ (PS) Exempt/dated: 14-05-2006, the NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with Post-Graduate Degree. However, the candidate having Ph. D. Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for P.G. level teaching. The candidates having M. Phil. Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for U.G. Level Teaching only.

General Information And Instructions:
The prescribed application forms may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar, Tumkur University, Tumkur on payment of (non-refundable) fee of Rs.100/- through Demand Draft (D.D) drawn in favor of the Finance Officer, Tumkur University, Tumkur payable at State Bank of Mysore, Tumkur for the posts of Professor, Reader and Lecturer.
A self-addressed envelope of the size 12x6’ along with D.D. for Rs.175/- has to be sent if the Application forms are required to be sent by post.
Fee for submission of application: (Non-Refundable)
i. For the post of Professor and Reader – Rs.1000/-
ii. For the post of Lecturer – Rs.500/-
iii. SC/ST applicants are eligible for 50% of Free Concession for submission of applications.
The said amount may be sent by DD in favor of the “Finance Officer, Tumkur University, Tumkur”, payable at State Bank of Mysore, Tumkur.
Note: Postal Orders, Money Orders and Cheques will not be accepted.
The Application Forms will be issued/posted only on the production of the Demand Draft (DD) for having paid the Application fees.
The date for issuing the Application Forms is 02.11.2006
The last date for receiving the duly filled in Application Forms in the office of the Registrar, Tumkur University, Tumkur is fixed on 08.12.2006 (up to 4.00 p.m.)
The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised Post(s) at any time without giving any reason. The number of positions is open to change.
