Sculpting a World University in India

Vedanta University, a ‘not–for–profit’ initiative of the Anil Agarwal Foundation, is an epoch – making dream to create a pre – eminent learning centre. In the hoary tradition of Nalanda and Takshila, the Vedanta University will light the lamp of excellence on the eastern coast of India. Vedanta University will be set up on the picturesque Puri – Konark marine drive in around 10, 000 acres of verdant land. The University will be an exemplary, multi - disciplinary institution similar to large lvy League universities, attracting students from across the world. With over 100, 000 students, this will be one of the largest single location education centres in the world. Future leaders, Nobel laureates, Olympic champions and other great men and women will pass through its portals. The project outlay for the University is in excess of Rs. 15, 000 crores.

The University is putting together a dream start – up team, and is keen to induct professionals who are not only accomplished in their disciplines but who more importantly have a burning passion to deploy their talent in making significant contribution to society and to the community at large. For this start up team, we have the following requirements:

Head – Projects

Graduate Engineer, from a reputed institute with about 15 years of experience in large – scale Greenfield projects from development through to successful completion. Will be responsible for project plan development, scope planning, project communications, construction, managing the project resources and time management. Candidate with experience of working in conjunction with international construction companies will be preferred.

Chief – Architect

Graduate Architect from an institute of repute with about 15 years hands – on experience with leading architectural firms or a major infrastructure company in the designing of large residential/ commercial / educational complexes. Will be responsible for master planning of campus, designing of academic buildings, landscape architecture, town planning etc. and will work closely with internationally reputed architects/ town planners to implement the project. Candidates with experience in a leading international architectural firm will be preferred.

Head – Administration & Estate Management

Post graduate degree in humanities / business management from an institute of repute in the age bracket of about 40 years and with experience in the following sectors – large industrial complexes / hospitality / education / R & D / IT/ BPO. Must be well versed in handling entire gamut of Local and Office Administrative functions, including compliances, land acquisition, hospitality, housekeeping, transport, security etc. A background in the defence forces will be preferred.

Human Capital Manager

Post graduate degree in Human Resource Management from a premier institute with around 12 years of experience with large institutions in handling the entire gamut of HR functions. Will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Development, and employee engagement initiatives including Recruitment, Talent Management etc. With an overall objective of creating and maintaining an employee – friendly and stimulating work environment.

Lead Resource – Commercial

Engineering Graduate from an institute of repute with around 12 years of experience in a large corporate, handling an array of commercial functions including finalization of large contracts, sourcing of material, supply chain planning, logistics and indirect taxation. An additional MBA degree is preferred though not essential. Candidate with sound commercial acumen and requisite experience in implementation of large projects will be preferred.

Manager – Utilities

Mechanical /Electrical Engineer from reputed institution with around 12 years of experience in large – scale project execution, preferably from owner side. Will be responsible for all construction facilities like power & water and other facilities such as switchyard, piping work and electrical distribution within the complex. Familiarity with advanced technology instruments and facilities is a must.

PR & Community Relations Manager

Post graduate in Mass Communications / Journalism /PR/ Social Work with around 12 years relevant experience in a large corporate. Will be responsible for community relations an CSR initiatives, internal communication and communication to key stakeholders / media as required.
