Centre for Disaster Mitigation & Management (CDMM) and VIT is poised to be a Centre of Excellence in Natural Disaster Risk Reduction. The main thrust areas include Disaster education at levels, rendering of specialized professional service in Structural designs, retrofitting, integrity evaluation of buildings, GIS based multi-hazard mapping, vulnerability and risk assessments and disaster knowledge network coupled with the great learning exercise. Applications are invited for the following positions.

1. Structural Engineer – Qualification: M.Tech/ M.E. Civil / Struc. Engg) Experience: Working knowledge and research & Development in Soil-Structure interaction studies, structural designs, Non-Destructive testing and integrity, Evaluation of building and Retrofitting of structures etc. and a Ph.D. will be preferred.
2. Geological Specialist – Qualifications: M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Geology / Applied or Engineering Geology / Geophysics, Experience: Natural disaster mitigation and management with specialization in Landslide disasters and other mass movements. Experience in handling equipments related to landslide studies and its integration with geo-technical analysis, preferred.

Salary will be fixed on the basis of the relevance and quality of practical experience in the following scales of pay. (a) Rs.14000-500-21500 (b) Rs.12000-400-18000 (c) Rs.10000-300-14500.
